This is a favorite drink
apple cider ice cubes (The best apple cider from your favorite farm in the fall, frozen into ice cubes and kept in the freezer in yogurt containers or whatever you see fit. A great technique to use as it starts to ferment.)
whiskey, one that does well blended (my favorite all-purpose fall-consumption whiskey is Dickel Rye)
fancy ginger beer: unfiltered ones from Brooklyn or whatever
lemon juice: to taste, for added zing
Pour the whiskey on the cider cubes (2 per person). Add the ginger beer, stir briefly, then add the lemon juice.
Garnish with a crystallized ginger cube, cut in half or quarters, to eat halfway through.
